Qadhra is still slim and beautiful, with small lines next to her eyes and a few stray gray hairs being the only signs of her aging.

Personal history
Empress Qadhra VI was born Haruma abn Olmayan, the second daughter of the Golden House of Olmayan. Her upbringing was typical for a girl of her social standing - letters and calligraphy, music and dance, geography, politics and history. Haruma was tested as a young child and found to have no latent magical talent.
When she came of age, Haruma avoided compulsory military duty by joining the priesthood of Azeera the Golden as a dhervish, a temple dancer. She remained in service to the godling until the death of Empress Qadhra V, her great aunt, of old age. Just twenty three years of age, she was granted special dispensation to leave the temple and stand with the other unmarried women of the Golden Houses for selection to Yellow Empress.
After a significant season of politicking, including (it is rumored) the seduction of the then-Warlord to place his thumb on the election's scales, Haruma was selected as the newest empress of Aurulant. She took the imperial name Qadhra VI, to honor her ancestor and demonstrate continuity with the late empress whose rule had been very popular.
Since ascending to the yellow throne, Qadhra has ruled calmly and conservatively, working to strengthen trade relations with neighboring countries and settlements, and avoiding provocative military actions. Qadhra has made it part of her reign to improve Aurulant's navy, promising to patrol the Bay of Janub and the coastline to protect merchant ships from pirates. This has been only partially successful.
Qadhra has traveled the length of her country, visiting every fort, town, and wadi at least once during her reign. She has also voyaged to the heart of Veltingard and even to the Falkenburg, the capitol city of Erynland. She invited King Cyrion Indigo, when he was crown prince, to visit her in Zhara, but the unfortunate death of his father prevented such a trip. Instead, she has sent an embassy to Carador's royal court that includes a number of young unmarried noblewomen and (if rumors can be believed) at least one dhervish and Handmaid of Azeera the Golden.
Sexuality
Qadhra VI is unmarried, as is the law. She has carried on several significant affairs, including one former Warlord and a married woman from one of the Golden Houses. Perhaps her most significant relationship was with Waziri abn Amir, a general of the Blue Legion who unsuccessfully sought the position of Warlord. Waziri, a celebrated horseman and duelist was known as the "Desert Storm" based on his devotion to Skeinor the Storm Lord. Their love affair was never easy and often volatile. After retiring from the Legions, Waziri took to ship to map out the Boiling Sea, but was never heard from again and is presumed lost at sea. Qadhra grieved his death for nearly a year.
Qadhra has given birth to three children, two girls and a boy. Each of them are being raised by her former Golden House.
