Rumble
Water? To drink? In Rumble? It's been a while since I heard a joke that good.
Demographics
The dominant species in Rumble is human, with a dwarven minority.
Government
The goverment is very weak in Rumble, with most of the power coming from the villagers not tolerating things like theft and murder. The villagers have become very observent and supportive of each other when there is trouble, allowing the sustem of hue and cry to work reasonably well.
The government is maintained by taxing alcohol and prostitution work. Most of the money goes directly back to them when there is an issue, such as illness, injury or destruction of property.
Industry & Trade
The main industry in Rumble is to keep tourists entertained and hazy enough that they stay until they are out of valuables. This is mostly done with alcohol of various kinds in combination with music and dance.
Prostitution is also a major trade in the village, with there being some multi-generational families engaging in it. Many of these families have established brothels of some kind.
History
The place started out as a place to rest while travelling, but soon turned a bit wild as it was out of the way and not well governed.
Tourism
Rumble practically is sustaining off the party loving tourists. People come from near and for in order to experience a time when drinking is encouraged and crude and lewd behaviour is expected.
Geography
Rumble is situated in a valley between two hills, next to a small lake. It is an hours travel away from the nearest main road, which suits those on that road just fine.
Natural Resources
The ground around the village is not very fertile and definitely not good enough to support both the villagers needs and enough wheat to supply visitors. For this reason Rumble is importing a lot of wheat and other grains.
