The death of Hamish Troutlung, also called Hamish "the Negotiator," at the bitter age of 96. His death would result in an explosion for human expansion. Ironically, he died at the same age as Kanel Logratte, his greatest political opponent.

Living an extremely bitter life after his damnation of a permanent military life by Kanel Logratte, Hamish died as a military general at the age of 96. While he was essentially incapable of performing his job in the later years, he existed as a powerful political opponent against Kanel, as the Saltkrigere were fiercely loyal to him (even though they disagreed with him). Hamish made it his life's goal to prevent humans from expanding while Kanel or his wife lived, as they wanted tales of exploration and pioneering to come with their names in history.   Once they died, he tried to deny the same vision to their selected heir, Agitha Logratte (who had married Ugar Skaldson, a member of a rising family in Steirvem). Unfortunately, he died after several more Logratte or Skaldson rulers, so their dreams of legacy were largely lost.
