The Eldurstery investigation into the inhabitants of Urr Island, wishing to prove the sapience of the natives.

The Monastic Order of the Eldursteries and Urrlógun had a rocky relationship for most of the lounge's existence. In the early years of hunting, the monks came to believe that Urrfolk were sapient creatures, undeserving of being hunted like animals. Still, the hunting hardly slowed with the warnings of the monks, and the Eldursteries detached themselves from the situation entirely. While they may have desired to research the natives, the monks were fully aware of the dangers the island presented for travelers, as the hunters ensured they were always on the defensive.   Good fate came to the monks, though, as the creatures became overhunted. At the time, it seemed they had fallen into extinction. A priest at the Eldursteries decided to get a detachment of students for a field project, where they would investigate every facet of the island and potential culture within. This priest, Exander Favrous, had spent much of his career attempting to connecting the concepts of culture and sapience. The Urrfolk were a golden opportunity to prove his theory.   The study spanned almost 9 years, and is the first major study in "authentic" human history. The researchers managed to find trinkets, toys, "sacred areas," and tools. Caves were decorated with crude carvings of stories (most of which appeared to be their hunting by humans which were done on top of old carvings). The most important thing of note were two small statues of black stone.   One seemed to be two heavy set creatures with vaguely similar aspects to the Urrfolk themselves. The other was a slim, tall creatures with dozens of arms that arose from her head, surrounded by small Urr around the feet. These two deities were later assimilated into the Augury with similar design but "estimated" stories. These two would come to be known as Eithun and Gaddon Urr, the Brother Gluts and Vail Ikidas.   The researchers were ignored in their attempts to share the new findings. The people of Urrlógun did not wish for hunting to become disrupted, and the people of Euvurcrest scorned the team for such frivolous research during times of war (with Caripreet, specifically).   Mainland Urrfolk know nothing about their ancestors culture, and the slowly rising population on the island refuse to share their land with trespassers. Truly, the ancient nature of the Urrfolk may never be uncovered.
