The spread of Caripreet's authority across the Trinen-Mot D'nir mountain border.
While Caripreet had been silent throughout most of Ettermiddag, they had been silently getting by the treachery Due to their easy access to waterways for fishing. Unfortunately, this meant the keystone city was abandoned by all but the ruling class while peasants relocated to the coasts. It was when the ruling class finally had to fend for themselves that it was time for a change. Being so close to an extensive mountain range, they wished to finally exploit it. Jerborg and Gullivegur still stood (in theory) but would have no protection from Eldurgrund ever since the travel routes were disrupted by raiders. Caripreet decided to capitalize on Eldurgrund's absence and sent envoys all the way to the Corkend Sea. Jerborg still stood but the residents had become "depraved." they had resorted to consuming their kaban slaves long ago but there were still a handful left for sentimental reasons. The people willingly turned themselves over to the rule of Caripreet in hopes of better access to food. This would eventually come to fruition as Jerborg happily accepted food in exchange for goods of the mountains. Gullivegur wouldn't turn itself over so easily. The town's population had dropped drastically after several famines in the past, but their numbers were replenished by the Tara-Jhen, who had mostly entered via the Quai. According to the new residents, the marsh had grown too cold to survive in. Naga-Tel broods had relocated to the town as well, but Caripreet new the town would be vital if hopes of trade were ever to be reinvigorated. Upon the first declination by Gullivegur, the Caripreet forces sent vague threats via couriers. The three individuals sent were brutalized, but survived. Tales of dark magic from the "sins of Ravahinas" came with them, and the superstitious travelers agreed to stick with the influence they had gained, before moving southward from Jerborg into the marsh.
