The series of attacks waged against the Gates of Vast by Kadelkonatl. The theater of war resulted in the loss of the Ocean Pride and the severe wounding of Kadelkonatl. The Gates received little to no damage.

After learning of the storm mages, Kadelkonatl seemed alarmed enough to attack the Snow Rock Isles. His mark was the Gates of Vast, as they would allow his fleet clear passage into Vorehem and the seat of the government. The hopes of the Ocean Pride were high on the voyage, but then they saw the Gates.   Built by the Snow Rocks and Vestergil, the gates stood hundreds of feet tall, connected between two mountains on parallel islands. The Ocean Pride made their first approach before being fired down upon by arrows. With no hope of success, they called to Kadelkonatl for assistance.   When they returned, Kadelkonatl took flight, spreading ineffective fire across the gates. He was able to slay many of those who manned the walls, but the structures seemed invulnerable. The fleet would sit in the low fog, miles away while they made a new plan. During this time, Vestergil took to battle, for the first and only time in history.   He clashed directly with Kadelkonatl, as the Gates were opened to allow the Snow Rock Fleet to set sail. Together, Kadelkonatl and the Ocean Pride were able to bring Vestergil into the water, where they proceeded to attack brutally. While he was in the waters, the Snow Rock Fleet was able to attack. On Vestergil's return, he brought storms and magic that sank most of the Ocean Pride. Reports say that only 3 ships escaped, and they never returned to Eyiliv.   Kadelkonatl was then attacked mercilessly by Vestergil. He had to retreat before receiving mortal wounds. Furious with the attack, Vestergil would follow after regrouping with the Snow Rocks.
