Udundst Anthropologist

"Its a punishment that most think too cruel, though no one knows its true extent. Few return and those who do choose not to speak on the matter. From the outside perspective, however, we can garner a few things. The lands of Udundst are crass and uncaring. Cold dust and snow go up to the knees, particulates in the air smother the lungs, the song of the breeze holds the cries of a forgotten people, and the work to be done only reminds its practitioners of a period painted in horror."
— Unknown Priest of Riiji: Patron God of Cycles

A Pointless Endeavor into a Lost Past

Udundst Anthropology is more than a mere occupation. While any can choose to take part in this job, you will likely be accompanied by inmates of Brillé, who are forced to serve the nation through tribulation. Those who travel to Udundst are tasked with uncovering relics, bodies, architecture, or other pieces associated with the nation's past, before its complete collapse during the The Mountainfold. The conditions are difficult to survive and most who go will not return home, resulting in the near extinction of their career. Due to Brillé's position in a savanna, practitioners can rarely find equipment to survive the freezing temperatures of Udundst coast and mountains. As advancements in exploratory technology began to make way, so to did the dedication to such a harrowing journey. This resulted in the halting of any developments with regard to surviving the horrid conditions and allowed the position to stand in as a form of execution to those who went. In all the times of sentencing inmates to this fate, only two have returned. Of them, only one brought information regarding the extinct Yunbad civilization. While this story has grabbed the attention of many citizens, from children to pride leaders, the information gained is usually considered worthless, only serving to promote superstition.
