Onothis is an Ohdaufehl under the oath of ancients and domain of order. He lives under mountains and defends their gifts as need be. While he does not despise the idea of mining, he does not wish to see his mountains ruthlessly exploited. He has fallen into legend by now, with many presuming he may be dead. He ultimately resided under the legendary "
Mount Athuris," but no mountain in Laminarum goes by this name. Many theorize it to be the mountains of Old Udundst, and that he perished during the Mountainfold. His skin was said to be made of luminous stone that reflected sun and moonlight.
Origin
Unique amongst the
Ohdaufehl, Onithis's origin is outlined by
Muren in
Augury scripture. Knowing that humanity would reach the dark age known as
Ettermiddag,
Muren wished to send his greatest servant upon them to inspire prosperity. Those in service at the time, however, were insufficient. Sitting upon
Mount Athuris and realizing a new prophet must be found, he reduced a nearby mont to its base, using its clay to create a servant in his image. This was Onothis: a divine servant with the ancient oath and domain of order.
Desires
While the specifically ordained goal of each
Ohdaufehl can never be known, lest they become outcasts, some desires of each can be parsed based on their actions. Onothis, for example, shows an affinity for the geologic world of Laminarum defending its mountains and their resources. During his time in Laminarum, he guided mortals to the balance between exploiting resources and thriving from them.
Though he may be a servant of the gods, Onothis is scarcely mentioned in
Augury scripture. In contrast,
Eldurgrund shows Onothis a great deal of reverence, worshipping him as one of the few prophets to
Muren (and perhaps to expectation,
Muren is only gravely revered in
Eldurgrund as well).
