Iowata

"Iowata" is a name designated to a series of icons identified throughout the buried civilizations of Kazbur. Its initial name is unknown, but its current nomenclature is a rough translation from an abandoned Kazbur language into the Kaban dialect. While the origin and purpose of the entity represented (or if it represents an entity at all) is presently unknown, it has inspired various Kaban fundamentalists. Hoping to find a new god incarnate in the modern age, excavations have begun throughout every corner of Kazbur, especially the massive city of Tazban.   The only official information about the old civilizations is that the Inhabitants consisted of Naga-Tel and Snow Rock relatives. As such, some theorize the icon represents peace between the humans and lizardfolk in the region, as it was rarely seen elsewhere at the time. Others believe it may represent an evolutionary transition between species, as most humans have always considered mammals more advanced than reptilians.   Unfortunately, the history of the icon may never be uncovered, as the Eruption of Taktaalak in Ettermiddag left every document ashen or drowned. While there are recovery and restoration projects in action, answers are unlikely to be found.
