Betema Tribe (Beh-teh-maw)
The Betema was a group of Kaban that grew quite separate from the others. They went into the marshes of Mot D'nir rather than remaining on the beaches. They grew twisted like the marsh itself and had little desire but revenge. Some people say that the Betemas spoke to unknown devils and used evil magics, but whatever dark knowledge the possessed was lost when they were destroyed by the Saltkrigere.
