Aufehl

Attributes: Increase one attribute by 2 points and another by 1 point. Ideally, the increases are based on traits of your Aufalten Ancestor.
Speed: You have a walking speed of 30.
Size: Aufehl may be medium or small, depending on their ancestry and circumstances of birth.
Age: Aufehl life spans vary greatly depending on their Aufalten ancestor and circumstances of birth.
Aufalten Ancestry: Depending on your aufalten ancestor, you will gain an extra ability and damage resistance. Given the mutagenic nature of the Aufalten, these abilities or resistances could take several forms. Work with your DM to determine your ability and resistance. Examples of abilities may include natural weapons, a breath weapon, a blinding flash, a fear-inducing roar, etc.

Brood of Aufalten

Across the lands of Laminarum are Ohdaufehl and Aufalten; the former are divine messengers sent during the dark age of Ettermiddag to help restore the world to its natural balance. These agents could take any form they pleased, often appearing as dragons, animal hybrids, mythological creatures, or any other assortment of strange figures. The aufalten, on the other hand, are ohdaufehl that abandoned their set task and fell to mortality. The Aufalten take on the biological equivalent of their final form, lose the ability to use magic, and acquire several other traits associated with mortality: reproduction is perhaps the most profound.
At present, all known reproducing aufalten have done so through 'budding,' though the resulting aufehl can reproduce amongst those of the same brood. Aufalten Budding is an elective process that the aufalten can choose to do at any time, supposing they're in good health to do so. The resulting offspring may take on a broad array of physical traits, though they typically appear as a cross between a humanoid and their corresponding aufalten. Aufehl brood will typically follow their masters and feel great allegiance toward them, causing their following to grow larger over generations. Regardless of their inherent loyalty, the aufehl are freely thinking beings and will take on their own lives should their masters die or abandon them. Over the course of generations, this loyalty has been lost in many aufehl family lines, though new ones continue to bud to this day. Still, many choose to revere their initial master and the broad array of opinions has heavily influenced their faith and culture.

Brood of Fallen Angels

Aufehl are the offspring of Aufalten: fallen angels who failed to perform their ordained tasks. Born through the process of Aufalten Budding, these entities often share various traits with their Aufalten masters and are often bound to servitude (whether through biological or social means). As their masters lose the need for their followers, they disperse across the lands, either revered for their holy origin or despised for their foreign appearance.

Playing an Aufehl

Aufehl are supplements for Dragonborn and use the same stats as a result. The only difference comes from their design, which the player can decide themselves as they choose their Aufalten master of origin.

Biology

Due to the strange nature by which Aufehl are born, most of them emerge malformed or incapable of surviving on their own. While budding allows for the efficient production of offspring, the process is rarely seen in such complex creatures. True-born Aufehl who manage to survive are born at a higher maturity than the other sapient species of Laminaurm, similar to a human 10-year-old, reaching full maturity a year later.
Aufehl are capable of reproducing amongst themselves, and these non "true-born" Aufehl follow life cycles similar to that of a human. These individuals reach full maturity at 18 years and may live as long as 100 years. Most Aufehl produce eggs, though many are known to give birth to live offspring or make use of pouches.

2 stage reproduction styles with a dominant generation. As the dominant generation lasts longer and is diploid, the theory is that aufehl can come back together and through a congregation, they can give up their lives to create another aufalten.
