High Gate

General Information

Shortly after the second Dossil war, Mitlind needed to secure their borders against their neighbours in the case of future invasion. Seeing as Morris Cove already had dense jungles and swampland stopping them from treking into Mitlind, the Hydenbur border garnered their full attention.

What started as simply building a gate on the most hospitable land in the cold western reaches expanded into a city that sees just as much traffic if not more. and while the threat of war has diminished over the years, the gate remains strong, ready to be barred should either of Mitlind's neighbours attempt anything untoward.

Geography

As High Gate is on the western side of Mitlind, it experiences heavy snowfall and strong winds. This combined with the nearby hills make the area prone to avalanches and blizzards. The citizens of High Gate know of these risks, and yet their city still stands, despite the terrible weather.
