Thornere

A medium sized town in south eastern Ysward. It is known for its roses which are sought after as pledges of true love. They grow many different flowers in this area, but the white rose of Thornere is the most famous, and most sought after. The lore of the rose started when Duke Oramyr was a young man. He had his eye set on the beautiful Lady Agara of Storough, but she kept refusing his pledges of love. Distraught, Oramyr rode south towards Auryvein thinking that a few weeks of hunting game would ease his mind. On his way back from that trip, he stopped in the little village of Thornere for the night. In the morning he saw the white roses growing along the sides of the house he was staying in. He asked demanded the owner sell him one for his beloved. Upon returning with the rose, the Lady Agara was overcome by the beauty of the flower, and agreed to be his bride. Since then, presenting the White Rose of Thornere to your love has been the ultimate pledge of love.
