Ponrand is located in the north-western hills of Ysward. It's people are ranchers and farmers, although there are many who think that the hills surrounding the area could hold ore, and many prospectors come to this quiet town seeking their riches. The lady of the town, wants to see evidence of these riches before she is willing to invest in any mining operations, and her people support her in that.
