Pelor, the Dawn Father

Bask in the glow of radiant fields. Depend yourself upon those shining rays. Find new life in the purifying light. Go towards my wayward suns, for they are beacons to peace.

Eclipse

Darkness. An aspect always viewed with such worry. Its beginning is the open gateway to villainy and upheaval, and its end is a relieving sigh for those afraid. Once, though, there was no light. The mortals of the universe remained in constant fear, and danger lurked at the neck of all souls. Many gods populated the realm with these mortals. Almost all took no notice to their reverent fear. Except one.   The almighty being called Pelor felt the terrors these beings faced. He grew sorrowful at their helplessness and angry to the ignorance of the gods, especially to the being who sat in control of this constant night. Constant darkness. Her name was Luna.   He confronted her and pleaded she end this darkness for the sake of the perishable masses who struggled to live on in hope. Yet she declined. She declared darkness to be the most celestial challenge for any being to overcome. And only those able and willing to do so were fit to inhabit this universe.   His pleas unheard, Pelor grew infuriated and vowed to bring an end to this. He would pry away the darkness, and water the fields of humanity with a beckoning light pure of everything.   He would create day.   Coalescing great, divine strength to his side, he crafted an almost endless expanse of fiery light, resting in a plane all of its own. The elemental plane of fire, he created, with a day that never set and a light that never simmered.   At the borders of this plane and the material plane, where all mortals lived, pockets of bright balls began to forge as the two intermixed. The universe became peppered with numerous white dots, and radiant orange glows. The stars were forged, suns created. And all mortal lives experienced the first day in history.   He could feel their reverence, their seraphic peace. They called out to these stars, these suns. They called out in worship and in hope. They called out to him. He became their god. He became their dawn father. And he vowed day would never end, lest the dangers of the night would return.   But Luna observed all that had happened, and grew very jealous of Pelor's actions. He was confronted by her, who summoned her magic to craft another plane like his. However, this one was of darkness, an eternal void that touched the material plane like his did. The Bedlam.   Though, not stars were created, but moons. Pelor witnessed Luna will the universe into a dark night once again.   Sensing the reappearing distress of mortals, he fought against her power to will the worlds back into the radiant light. Luna retaliated, and Pelor yet again as well.   For eons ever after, the universe now constantly shifts between light and dark, day and night, teetering on the edge in anticipation for which will overcome the other. An eternal night. Or an everlasting day.

I serve to preserve the light of our Dawn Father. Even in the most difficult battles to come, I know his luminosity will be by my side as I strike down all those who dare to destroy this salvation.
