Night Lavandula

The Night Lavandula is a strongly aromatic shrub, commonly found in the northern regions of Kreworis. It is most wide spread within the Nefadric Empire, where it holds cultural and religious significance.

Among the disciples of the three moons, the Night Lavandula is a sacred plant that hold close ties with the three moons and are revered for it's sleep inducing qualities. Ornamental plants of Night Lavandula are often found at shrines to the three moons or sacrificed to Ucrapus, the broken moon.

It is a strongly aromatic shrub growing as high as 1 to 2 metres tall. The leaves are evergreen, 2–6 centimetres long, and 4–6 millimetres broad. The flowers are pinkish-purple, produced on spikes 2–8 cm long at the top of slender, leafless stems 10–30 cm long.

While the Night Lavandula is most common in northern regions of Kreworis, the plant is relativily hardy and can survive cold winters and low water conditions with relative ease.

Uses

The flowers and leafs of the Night Lavandula are often used as herbal medicine, either in relaxing teas or aromatic ethereal oils. The flowers are also used in the Nefadric cusine for some herb blends.

Tea brewed from the flowers of the Night Lavandula are well known for thier relaxing qualities. These teas are often enjoyed by Nefadrim, especially those with a strong bond with Ucrapus, before going to bed, since it can alleviate minior sleeping problems and promote a restful night of sleep.
Night Lavandula Oil
The aromatic oil from the repeatetly destilled petals of the Night Lavandula have a long history as ingriedient in parfume and skin applications. Night Lavandula Oil is often used as massage oil to induce relaxation through direct skin contact.
