The History of Kras'na so far
The Elfin Dominion (Age of Myth)
The Elfin Dominion was the first civilization to ever span across the known world, during the Age of Myth. Their walls and palaces would eventually be crushed underfoot by the landless Dwarfs and Giants, long before the majority of the other races came to be.
++ The Elfin Dominion, and others left a great deal of magical items from the beginning of the world.
The Magocracy of Iktan (Antiquity)
After the Voice returned, the newly formed races went out into the world and began settling it. The first, and greatest of these settlements was Iktan, a massive city between two great mountains. It was founded where the Primeval magic was strongest, allowing them to harness powers never before seen. They were the envy of the world for a time. However, they could not control the magic forever. It drew the envious eye of the Horse Lords and the Sky Peoples.
++ The Magocracy of Iktan left behind a great deal of magical knowledge, in a meta sense. Their ruins are burried deep within the ground, and are contested by races seeking magical knowledge.
The Kingdom of Marina
The Kingdom of Marina was the last bastion of hope against the Orcs. The lineage of the Vampire Princes lead to this. The first king of Marina was Hugleikr, a giant of a man who went into exile with those that followed his failed rebellion. He was tempted by Hags who offered a means of revenge, but refused them. His son, Sigmund inherited the Kingdom, and worked to secure peace with his fathers enemies. His son, Avgust would be the last king to sit upon the throne of Marina. He, like those that came before him faced an untimely death. The Kingdom would be divided amongst his sons.
Current Species & Cultures
The Vampire Princes
The Vampire Princes are divided. Although they all have sworn oaths, and in theory work towards the same goal, the peace that they have is often strained with their ambitions. The Princes were once part of a lesser kingdom, which guarded its land with an attrition war with Northern Orcs. Today the Vampire Princes scheme, each holding strongly to his ambitions and convictions.
The Elfin Dominion
Cast out by the Voice, the Elfin Dominion remains. They now reside in the Feywild, a realm made as a pleasurable prison to hold the first Elves until the Voice returns once more. However, the Elfin Dominion has found a way to escape from the confines of the Feywild, and now spread terror across the land as they seek to forcefully return the Elves back into the feywild.
New Zansburg
The makeshift homes of the Holy Knights, who have sailed from across the sea. There is very little known currently about their homeland. Even the Knights themselves know very little of who thier king is, or what is going on in their honeland.
The Sons of Thordin
The Sons of Thordin are a group of Dwarfs that have escaped certain doom, which has aroused great suspicion. They are hidden within the mountain pass, making deals with Velari.
Needs & Relations
The Vampire Princes
The seven sons of Avgust were strongly united in their earliest days, but over the centuries they have become little more than a loose alliance. With each victory that they achieved over their ancestrial enemies, the bonds they had with each other grew weaker, as they saw the immense flaws within each other. As a whole, they take an isolationist stance with their neighboring countries. They have a trade agreement with the Sons of Thordin, requesting natural ores.
Efram
Efram is without question the most ambitious of the Vampire Princes. Hedged in by his brother Artur, he seeks outside allies, or those easily manipulated in order to help further his private ambitions.
Artur
Artur was, and is, the most against the Gift of Vampirism. Although he knows that he is ever watched by his brothers spies, he seeks great wizards and clerics from other lands to find a cure for Vampirism.
Yakov
Yakov rules his land as he wishes he could have, prior to the Gift. Unlike his brothers, he imitates the Feudal codes of Chivalry that he has seen and heard from those across the ocean. He seeks more information on their lands.
Valeri
Valeri wants for nothing, and offers nothing. He is the guardian against the north, his presense a warning for any that would cross into the realm of the Princes.
Maksim
Maksim promotes art, and foreign trade. Maksim plays a minor role in the affairs of the state, instead focusing on peace and making deals with the other foreign powers.
Borya
Borya is focused only on the War of Vengeance.
