Kostea

Home of all known life, and the setting of everyone's story.

Kostea is a small planet in the cosmos, containing an abundance of life. Covered in a variety of environments, from scalding volcanoes to the coldest tundras, you're sure to never run out of new locations or exciting things to see. Kostea is the only planet in the universe that has Humans, and is currently the only known celestial body entirely besides the sun and Kostea's moon, Abram.   As you explore Kostea, you'll find meet many wonderful locations, such as Xodia, as well as fascinating and friendly creatures, like the Snuffle. However, Kostea is not without its dangers. Stray too far from civilization, and your sure to come across Darklings that have had their populations left unchecked. Failure to be adequately prepared will result in them making quick work of you. Don't mistake Darklings as the only threat however, for not all creatures are as friendly as a Snuffle.

Geography

Kostea is rich in a variety of ecosystems. Containing three major continents, the ecosystems are as scattered and varied as the spots on a cheetah. The northern most continent Is covered in dense forests, a small mountain range and a northern tundra peninsula.  The second and largest of continents is home to the worlds largest and hottest desert, and longest of mountain ranges. The third, and smallest of all the continents contains the tallest of the mountain ranges, and a unique spiraled outcrop of land at its southern most tip.

Fauna & Flora

Kostea is filled with a variety of flora and fauna alike. From the most powerful human to the smallest of flowers, everywhere you look life is brimming. Even in the most severe of conditions life has adapted to survive and thrive. Though not all fauna are friendly towards humans, the primary rule of the wild is simple: You leave the animals alone, and they'll probably leave you alone too.   Note for potential visitors: Darklings do not abide by the rule of the wild, and will not leave you alone no matter how much you try to avoid them.

Natural Resources

Kostea is rich in natural resources. Forests cover much of its southern continents, such as in Xodia, while the oceans are rich in resources such as salt, oil under the sea floor, and even the occasional precious ore. The mountains ranges in the east are rich in ores, various stone, and the occasional deposit of natural gasses. Found throughout Kostea in rare amounts are elements known as Physical Darkness and Physical Light. Named for their most noticeable traits, these resources are used in advanced technologies, though their true side effects or limits from being used is still being researched.

History

Scientists all over bicker on how Kostea was created, be it from a larger planet splitting apart, to small clumps of other objects coming together over the millennia to form the planet. Mythology even lends its own explanation, in the form of Kostea: The Creation Story. What is agreed upon though is that approximately 400 years ago humans evolved from their primitive state, gaining sapience. From this point on they quickly became the dominating species of the world, rivaled only by Darklings. In their 400 years of sapience, humanity has built vast nations, accomplished global unity, and thrived.

Tourism

Kostea is a lovely place to explore, though sometimes dangerous. From the grassy plains of Xodia to the vast canyons of the south, Kostea never disappoints. The fauna certainly dont disappoint either. You can visit the jungles hundreds of times and never see a Snurkle, or you can visit a cave once and come across an entire colony of them. Even if you think you've seen all there is to offer, your most certainly mistaken.
