Physical Light

Physical Light is the physical embodiment of light, and a building block of the universe itself. The polar opposite of Physical Darkness, Physical light is made of bright, white energy. While generally requiring to be refined to be used, Deities and some Demi-deities are able to manipulate it at a raw form. Found in 3 states, a liquid, solid, and gas, Physical Light is found in rare deposits across Kostea. Heavily believed to simply be a rare resource, its anomalous abilities are considered a myth among the general populace. One undisputed ability of it however, is its adverse affects upon Darklings.  With just a small amount of it being able to repel most minor Darklings, large amounts have been shown to entirely destroy the creatures upon contact, making it a sought out resource as weaponry. However, its refinement requirement makes it difficult and rare to be used on small scales.

Properties

Material Characteristics

A white florescent color. Found in 3 states,a liquid gas and solid. All states share a similar appearance. Physical Light in its gas form can range from a slightly transparent cloud to a thick fog, depending on the amount in a given space. Physical Light as a liquid is a thick fluid, similar to honey. In its solid form it is as hard as any stone, and very difficult to break without machinery.

Physical & Chemical Properties

In contrast to Physical Darkness, Physical Light has shown positive effects upon most humans and organics. Those near it report feeling a sense of happiness and extreme positive emotions, as well as being filled with large amounts of energy, such as what one may experience from drinking a fresh cup of coffee. Physical Light can also halt and even reverse the affects caused by Physical Darkness upon an environment.

Geology & Geography

Found scattered in rare deposits across Kostea, primarily high in the mountains of the planet.

Origin & Source

While its origin is unknown, what is known is that it has existed since Humans first gained Sapience on 0 HS. Throughout history its existence has been recorded, and when possible it has been studied for equally as long. Kostea: The Creation Story makes references to it, claiming that it has existed since before Kostea itself, and even holding it responsible for the God's creation, and subsequently, Kostea's creation. Of course, many people simply shrug this off as a myth of old, and not holding any true substantial weight.

Life & Expiration

Does not appear to deteriorate on its own, but can decay and be destroyed when exposed to high amounts of Physical Darkness.

History & Usage

Industrial Use

Once refined and contained, PL can be used in both high scale environmental restoration, as well as weaponry against Darklings. Once refined and contained, PL has been used in the production of energy and heavy artillery weapons for use against the Darklings. While capable of being combined with traditional weapons, the process is slow and not widely used.

Refinement

While containment of PL is considerably easier then Physical Darkness, its refinement is more difficult. Most modern weaponry is incapable of utilizing PL, designed for conventional projectiles, requiring new technology and infrastructure to be assembled for its use.

Manufacturing & Products

PL can be used in the production of Hard Light technology, which can be used further in the containment or manipulation of Physical Darkness.

Environmental Impact

Physical Light can be used to repair environments that have been damaged by exposure of Physical Darkness. While Physical Darkness is known for its completely destruction of organic matter, Physical Light can halt and even repair this destruction. Its affects upon humans in this degree are unknown, due to its scarcity and the usually rapid impact that Physical Darkness has upon complex organics, such as Humans.

Distribution

Storage

Physical Light can easily be stored, due to a lack of any adverse affects upon organic or structural containment measures.
