Sagarus

"Fear the man who has grown old in a profession where most die young."
Sagarus, also known as Cœur de Lion, is the current Grandmaster of The Cerulean Sentinels and one of its finest warriors. Sagarus has spent the last two decades working to bring a new attitude to the Order. He feels that the Sentinels should continue to heal and protect, but should also use the sword to attack, not just defend. In the last two decades, the Cerulean Sentinels have become much more of an order dedicated to vanquishing evil not just protecting the victims of its onslaught.    This has resulted in more Paladins following oaths of vengeance or even conquest to join its numbers. Sagarus himself is a paladin who has sworn an oath to hunt down evil for glory in battle. The Grandmaster distinguished himself before King Ashglade in the Battle of the Scarlet Pass, a colossal and fierce battle between the Kingdom of Arcanum and a Duergar invading force who had, in an act of pure desperation, pushed onto the surface and besieged Walkelin's Watch. The great fortress was battered to pieces, its great towers brought to the earth by Duergar siege weaponry. The first battle of the Pass ended quickly when a shard of warpstone was fired into the keep, melting the flesh of thousands of Arcanian soldiers, leaving nothing but green ooze covered bones.    When the Arcanians re-formed and counterattacked, Sagarus rode in the vanguard as an armored knight. Early in the fight he was thrown from his horse and lost his sword. The Knight resorted to using anything he could grab. His pauldrons, his gorget, and of course his helmet to slay the invading Dark Dwarves. Eventually, Sagarus disarmed a Duergar Captain of his warhammer and wielded it for the remainder of the battle. After four long hours, the Duergar retreated into the mountain. King Ashglade knighted Sagarus and officially named him a Lord with a small holding near Walkelin's Watch, so that he may forever guard the Pass.    After several years at his post, he found that he was not fit for the duties of a lord. The politics, the dark shadowy games he had to play, all of it stood in the way of what he wanted to do most which was to fight and protect others. Within five years of holding land, he renounced his claims and took to the roads, where he met a passing by Sentinel.
