Government

Woodvern is one of the only towns located in the province of Tinsael. Being entirely abandoned for hundreds of years, it is now populated mostly by Borderless, as they are the only ones who can cross the border to access it. The population fluctuates often as borderless tend to keep moving, but despite this, the town is considerably large. It is a place where many borderless species come to settle down when they want a break from traveling. Over the years, many non-borderless people have been born in the province, making them permanent residents.   Being in their own province, Woodvern technically has its own government, but many of its residents come from Arwyn and have to travel there for trade and work, so people tend to have a strong connection with the people there, and the two governments communicate frequently through their embassy.

Architecture

The town is fairly advanced for being so small. It's denser areas are made up of multi-story masonry buildings sitting along well maintained cobble roads. Architecture resembles that of late 19th century, European architecture, the kind often found in dense areas. The closer to the border the town is dense with buildings close together, but the further from it you get, the more spread out things become, and the brick and mortar buildings give way to simpler, cozier log cabins made from the abundant trees, with beautiful vistas and coastal property.   Quite a few people have taken advantage of their borderless status and build homes and businesses through the Border so that they have easier access to customers on the other side. Because of this, the town start to leak a fair bit into Arwyn often leading to heated property deputes with the local government.

Infrastructure

Woodvern is designed to be mostly self sufficient and have access to everyone basic needs. People own farmland and livestock and sell their goods to the shops in town. Trade is very important to the people of Woodvern, and they often run businesses out of their own homes. Its normal for people to travel in an out of town frequently and the center of town has a nice, wide market place.   There is a large camping area near the river for traveling borderless to stay in. This area is usually fills of tents and caravans, with communal areas like bathrooms, pavilions with tables and a bonfire area. The campground are within walking distance of the towns Inn and bar, owned by Glace Marten. The building also acts as the official location for the Borderless Guild.

Geography

The town is located right up against the south east boarder, on the mainland area of Akasuna. It's close enough that they often actively communicate with people living in the neighboring province of Arwyn. It is surrounded by woodland and coast and is fairly temperate temperature wise.

History

People had known that there hadn't been any signs of life from Tinael in centuries, but know one was ever sure if the province was truely abandoned, or if the people there near came near the Borders. That was, until Gillian Woodvern and a small party of borderless decided to take an expedition into the province and search for the Tinsaeli people. However, after months of exploring the forests and tropical jungles of Tinsael, the group came to the conclusion that there was truely no one left in the province.   That's when Gillian saw an opportunity. Without native inhabitants, this whole province as abanonded and full of untapped resources, and borderless were the only ones who could penetrate its walls and enter. Gillian decided to settle in the province, and create village of borderless. News of this borderless-only province spread quickly, and soon many were flocking to the region to settle. As the village grew, so did it's reputation as a private safe heaven for borderless to collect.   When Gillian died, the town was named after him, and continued to grow into a popular trading town, with a booming econamy and a pleathora of natural resources. In the wake of Woodvern's success, people of begun to spread out from the town and form their own little settlements near by.
