Kotter

The Sleeping City

"And so the small island of Kotter fell into a deep sleep that they could never wake from, dreaming away in their perfect society while their precious town rotted around them."
— Kollark Legends and Myths

History

Kotter was once a small but prosperous town in the province of Shonova made money through a successful fishing business. The town was completely average for the most part, however that all changed when one day, 30 years ago, all the residents of the town fell into a deep sleep they could not be woken from. It is believed this was a curse laid upon by a young Suplum girl that lived in the town, whose gift gave her control over sleep.   Many attempts had been made to attempt to wake the residents, but the sleeping spell is far too strong, and nothing works. As well, spending more than an hour in the village causes visitors to become overwhelmed with the urge to sleep and pass out, trapping them in the sleep spell as well. As a result, people stopped trying to break the spell, and the village was forgotten except in rumors.   Now-a-days no one will step foot in the town, fearing that the curse will take them too and they will never return.

Architecture

The town mostly consisted of tightly spaced cottages and farm houses. In the center of town is a decently sized mansion that was once the home of the mayor and his daughter Evette, who supposedly caused the curse that afflicts its residents.   Stone paths lead down to the sea side where there's a large dock and plenty of fishing boats.   Most of these structures have sense fallen into disrepair as no one has been around to maintain the town. The roads are cracked from invading plants and parts of the dock have collapsed into the water. Amazingly some of the boats and barges remain floating.

Geography

Kotter is a seaside village located on one of the small islands south of the main peninsula of Shonova. The only way to this area is to take a boat to the island. Kotter is the only settlement on the island and the rest is wildlife.

Natural Resources

Being on an island, Kotter has easy access to the ocean on all sides. This makes it perfect for fishing and it was the towns main source of trade and income in it's hayday.
