Crow
They got it all wrong, but that is how these things typically go. Foid does indeed carry a rapier imbued with treamondous magics, being as he is the chosen of a goddess. Crow, on the other hand, technically only refers to the hilt, and if we are being perfectly honest even then it is a poor name. Closer inspection of the "crow" will find that the things that look like feathers from a distance are in fact themselves tiny crows, flocking to take the shape of a larger crow to create a distinctive basket hilt.
The true magic contained in the hilt is a tribute to Foid's father, Hrothgar Rumrunner. Hrothgar was a grave cleric of some renown who could often be found on the frotn lines of battle next to his friend Belmourn, spectral birds surrounding them both, slowing their enemies and tearing off bits of their spirit (if you believe the rumors). Indeed, Crow can be unleashed by Foid to just this effect, something that ensures that his targets have no small difficulty trying to escape. I would actually posit, though I have not been able to confirm with Foid or anyone else with firsthand knowledge of the weapon, that the actual name of the hilt is shared with what we call a group of crows: Murder.
