The Old Tongue, the Language of Creation, True Naming, all different names for different parts of the same thing. Babble is the language of Creation.
While largely a lost language, Babble is still encountered from time to tame across Kohtalo. A sure sign that one has encountered babble, either spoken or in writing, is a sense of
almost understanding the message.
The Dangers of Babble
Babble can just be nonsense, however, most people who are exposed to it (and as such can start babbling) are at least somewhat magically inclined. The most dangerous people to speak the tongue are archwizards. The creation of the Tuulikello Forest is attributed to one such person, who in his temporary madness managed to re-write the reality of a forest so that the plants grew crystal leaves (leading to its name, which translates to Forest of Chimes). Others have been known to harm themselves or others as having access to magic and the speaking the language of creation, however fragmented causes
accidents.
The Dangers of Gibberish
Gibberish, as compared to babble, is dangerous almost exclusively to the person speaking it. This is because in the madness induced attempt to speak it, one will force ones body to make sounds unnatural to any known living thing. Often symptoms of speaking gibberish include bleeding from the mouth and nose, lung damage, scratches to the ears (or eyes should one be unfortunate enough to encounter writing in the language) and in general irrecoverable insanity as the brain tries to make sense of concepts foreign to our reality and level of exist.
