Rosebed Develop

A large floating spacecraft around the size of a planet with multiple power sources to avoid complete black-out as that would most likely lead to the death of all the inhabitants. It's designed to never have to port unless for emergencies.
It launched in 2389 and was estimated to return in 3500. Eastsummer lost the ability to communicate with the station within the year of being launched then the ability to track it within the decade following.
Shortly before Eastsummer's fall, it's rumored that the Rosebed Develop mysteriously reentered the solar system for reasons unknown to the empire. According to the rumor, the empire is attempting to communicate with the space station with no success. The communication machines are failing to connect or the Rosebed's servers aren't working.
Relations between the Rosebed and the Eastsummer Empire are nonexistent due to lack of communication. It's likely that the inhabitants of the former resent the latter for forcing them to evacuate and the latter to resent the Rosebed for being granted freedom not given by the Eastsummer to its own citizens. Most Eastsummerian residents believe that the Rosebed was a massive waste of time. Many of the wealthy look down on the station.
A large appeal for the Eastsummer Empire is the vast research for distant planets. Another was rare resources and proving that outlying solar systems could be colonized. It also means that the Rosebed could've encountered alien civilizations and interacted with them.
On the other hand, the time spent out of the empire's reach might've meant that the Rosebed Develop could've declared independence. The station might help the Rebellion by offering the resources.

Demographics

Purely humans, mainly poor families, and factory workers; the space station was separated into the crew, the workers, and the citizens. The citizens divided themselves by wealth, knowledge, and merits. Higher classes could go further from their designated rooms.

Government

Self-governed, republican with several political parties; laws have been passed to prevent deaths caused by outrage and corruption; taxes are based on one's income and livelihood

Defences

Smaller orbs protrude from the orb, they contain firearms, missile launchers, and deterrents; the Develop is protected by electric shields generated by power plants

Industry & Trade

Maintaining the star-ship is crucial to the inhabitants, about one-third works as the crew, a second third works to grow the food consumed by the citizens, the last third does miscellaneous occupations.
The assorted occupations done on the spacecraft include science, research, craftsmanship, mundane jobs, politics, education, security, and record-keeping. Those fields make up the majority.

Infrastructure

Farms, water-filtering plants, nuclear plants, courtyards, entertainment areas, auditoriums for political events such as elections and trials, plumbing pipes to remove biowaste and transport it to fertilizer barrels, electrical wires to power the city, communication system, server rooms, security cameras, cafeterias

Assets

Large artillery such as missile launchers; shield generators; rare metals such are Trillium and Stellarium; star jewels and meteorites; technology such as satellites and advanced solar panels

Guilds and Factions

The Ivory Sanguines and the Lower Queens work together to provide the city's security and law enforcement. Once they were enemies but after the creation of the Rosebed, both sides were hired to protect the new city from danger. The Golden Nameless are assassins, protectors of the city's morality. They track down the corrupt and liquidate them. Those who want more protection head towards the Bronze Loyal or the Steel Silver.
The crew has their own quarters and recreational areas. They gather to elect a representative, leader, and diplomat. The diplomat listens in on arguments then proposes a solution.

History

Overpopulation had quickly overtaken Kofleon, the city was besieged with famines, plaques, and disaster. Scientists were gathered up to find a cure to save the empire. One proposed the idea of sending half of the population into space as it had been done before the Collapse.
The Madame of the time was bribed into accepting. She allowed the majority of the space mines' harvest and some of the moon's minerals to be used in the construction. It took around 300 years to complete. The scientists who had originally worked on the star-core passed down their work to their apprentices.
Out of the several thousand Districts, around 300 of them were chosen by chance. Madame ordered them to leave their homes with their belongings and head towards the Rosebed Develop.
They launched, never to see their homes again. The event on Kofleon is called the Ghosting as it happened out of the blue; leaving empty houses and unfilled positions. It hit the economy hard but the city quickly got over the shock.

Architecture

Very utilitarian as per the typical Eastsummerian architecture; the districts emptied into the Rosebed Develop had their numbers painted onto the outer shell where they lasted for generations and centuries. The most distinct is District 568.

Geography

A large planet-sized metal orb with a large vault door, a symbol engraved into the metal then filled with beautiful gems, and a metal rim. The outer wall is painted over with numbers.
Parks hold lush hills, forests, and snaking rivers. Each recreational green area holds a pond and an aquatic farm.

Natural Resources

The citizens have large farm-park bubbles to feed themselves and harvest much of the metal they need from recycling, nearby planets, and comets. Fake rivers feed the farms, the people, the environment, and the fish living within.
