Legionnaire Equipment

Hobgoblin Legionnaires are typically issued a breastplate, two heavy javelins, three light javelins, a short sword, a hexagonal shield, a tunic in the colors of the legion, and a helmet with rank markings. They call this kit "Brulk"

The Hobgoblins' standard tactic is to skirmish with their light javelins during maneuver. Immediately prior to a charge, they launch one volley of heavy javelins while stationery, another on the move, and then charge shields first at the enemy. Once pressed, they use their short swords for up close butchery. 
Their hexagonal, extremely regular shields serve an additional purpose: using the shields and heavy javelins, they interlock them when they make camp to form nearly impregnable walls; portable forts so that they are always sleeping in a secured space.
