Broker

Requirements

Brokers are typically recruited when an Intercessor or an Auditor notices that they have a sufficient ambition and lack of empathy.

Appointment

A Broker is a Broker when they have an Umbral Cell that answers to the Intercessor and their Auditors. This may be through treachery within the cell, appointment by the Intercessor, or even having learned about the cult and formed a cell, a candidate for Broker may seek out the leader or their minions.

Duties

Brokers guide their cell and set both the strategy and tactics required to make their offerings to the Four. Gifts from the Auditors come through the Broker, to be meted out at their discretion.

Benefits

Brokers have control of their cell, and personal ambitions are encouraged so long as they continue to spread misery in service to the Four.

Accoutrements & Equipment

While not at all official, most Brokers invent a badge of office for themselves, which obviously varies greatly from cell to cell.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

Brokers that become a liability for the cult are invariably assassinated by Auditors.

Source of Authority

Brokers are typically either the founder of their cell or the Supplicant that mutinied against the previous Broker of that cell.

Length of Term

Brokers remain Brokers until they die, are killed, or participate in the Final Ecstasy.
