The wisdom of those who don't know yet

Back when the Dry Sea was the Lake of Salt, even before the construction of The Stairs, there was a small tribe of warriors who lived down there. They knew two things: how to battle, and how to obtain sweet water from the salty lake. They would trade water for food and other supplies. Without army other source of water around they would ask more and more each time. Eventually, nobody could pay and the warriors ran out of food.   They begged to the lake for a miracle, but the fishes and algae they could reach from the shore were as poisonous as ever. They even begged to the earth, that has always been dead in that place. Their trading tactics had already failed them, so they decided to kill everyone in the nearest village to steal their food.   The youngest warriors, who had lived all their life in times of peace, didn't want to go. "We haven't asked the sky and the wind", they said and their eldest allowed them to try. The young warriors offered their loyalty to any element willing to hear their plea.   The next day, purple clouds conquered the sky. The warriors looked for shelter thinking that this was some kind of storm. When they ventured outside they noticed several feathers here and there. Not far from the lake, they found lots of vines that turned out to be edible.   While they ate them, they recognized the wisdom of the younger warriors.

This oghense legend has some basis on the limited resources in the region and some historic events recorded by some small societies who live there.   Many consider it a story, completely a work of fiction. Others think it was designed to teach people a lesson about embracing the point of view of different groups.   A few think it to be truth.   One way or another, this story is closely related to the Water from the Dry Sea tradition.
