The Order of Purple Feathers

Until early years of the ninth Ka before Discovery, people in Ogha thought that the purple clouds that took over the sky once a year and left a trace of purple and lilac feathers, were either a deity or a complex atmospheric phenomena.   According to several historians both from Ogha and the Community, the Order of Purple Feathers where the first to actually see a cloud, even if back then they thought they were messengers of the weather.   They were also the first to understand, and reveal to the world, the real nature of those creatures, since they had devoted their life to the study of the yearly purple clouds in the sky.

Structure

While this was one of the first organizations to leave behind the concept of hierarchy, they are even more respectful towards the more experienced than most local cultures and religions. Any new discoveries and theories require the verification from a mentor*.   *The verification is a common practice in Ogha, as well as the supervision, but the mostly because the less experienced people accepts or asks for it, and is not usually required to support an research.

Public Agenda

In the old times, The Order of Purple Feathers was a theocracy that ruled over several "countries" or tribes from The Desert. They would take decisions and establish rules based in the behavior of the flocks of clouds, even before it was discovered that they were birds.   Just as Ogha became a single nation with a shared law and philosophy, their beliefs evolved and spread too. Currently they are considered the best advisors in weather related topics, and they are always happy to contribute, although the conservation and study of the clouds are still their main goal.

Assets

Because they travel so much, they share tools and libraries all over the world, taking them from one place to other as required.   Each birdwatcher travels with at least a set of field glasses as well as angle, distance and temperature measuring devices. Other tools required to explore certain terrains are kept by the birdwatchers living in the near cities, and any other member of the order can borrow them.
