Laku's Forest

Ogha first ecologists

After the Harvest War, Solda stayed in what was left of the forest along with several people from different wood related guilds. They were called tree keepers, and everyone thought that they were planting trees and making sure that the new exemplars were better than the current ones. While they actually did was learn.   They would try to control fires, but other than that, they didn't interfere for years. In the age of the floods, they learnt to deal with that too, but said phenomena was never as severe there as it was in the rest of Laku.   The forest became their town, but they don't have buildings or fields, and harvest just what they need when they need it.   They thought that, with time, they would be able to help the forest to thrive, so it would resist the damage caused by human activities, but they ended up deciding that the best they could do was let it be, interfering only in extreme situations, and classifying specimens and areas to regulate the cutting of trees according to their respective cycles. That way, damage is reduced to minimum.

The finest furniture in the world

It may seem easy to create amazing wood products when you have access to an extensive source of beautiful raw material. Even more so if you mix ancient magic and modern technology with the knowledge of every good artisan families and guilds in the world.   Getting those people to work together to save a forest and choose the best techniques and tools was the actual challenge.

The twin Piers

There are two piers in Laku's city that are controlled by the Wood Trading Guild.   There was a time when they were used by two different guilds, and to this day they are still called the Cedar Pier and the Jabier's pier.   Of course the names are nothing but a reference now, since the guilds are now one and the same. They are the only piers that sell exactly the same thing. There were some attempts to specialize them, but they proved to be unpractical.
