Farncola Cavern is a large blackstone cave found in the east wall of the Farncola Gorge. Despite being known as a "cavern" in name, this cave is an exogene cave in the form of a rock shelter. It was formed by frost weathering, where water entered the pores of porous rock and froze, chipping it away slowly. Farncola Cavern is one of the only places of relative shelter near the Farncola Forest. Despite being "shelter", it is not able to significantly stave off the wind, which whistles through the cave and echoes within it.
