An Oribates honor guard is a special unit educated in many fighting styles and able to act as dragoman at any given moment.
They also act as a mentor and teacher in the first years.
Every member of the royal family leading Duvara, the family Oribates, gets assigned an Honor guard with their 60th birthday, usually of the opposite gender and a young adult of 120-130 years.
These bodyguards will then follow the steps of the royal mucky pup taking care of their protegès safety and being a loyal mentor and companion to the young Oribates.
This relationship, while usually remaining professional, is forged to be a lasting one with quite a few Honor guards getting to be the closest royal advisor of the future king/queen.


The dojo educating and training the most devoted Honor Guards for the Oribates family members is revered in Duvara to be a martial arts and mystical teachings focussed university for gifted soldiers. Most, if not all of these most gifted Honor guards are said to be orphans or rich kids aiming to get some influence in the Desert kingdom.

Qualifications

To be valid to serve the Oribates family directly in protecting their youngest, a Honor Guard has to successfully learn or have already the following qualifications:

Very good grades in school, with special training to be the private tutor of their protegé

A black belt in at least two opposing martial art schools

The lilac cape of an expert in controlling one's arcane abilities.

The manners and etiquette necessary to not embarrass their protegé. An Honor guard should be stalwart and focussed; able to keep up with the aristocracy.

The unwavering resolve to put the life of their protegé in front of theirs.
