Joan Adler

Joan Adler (16th October 1839 - 2nd March 1915) was an Etorean nurse and midwife at the Ashburn General Hospital.
  Joan was born to parents Godwin and Caroline Fisher, she was the youngest of six children. She grew up in her family home at 14 Murdoch Street in Ashburn, East Etorea. due to her family's modest wealth, she attended Ashburn Grammar School until age 17 which is when she went to London to study to be a midwife. Upon her return she married long time family friend Aberama Adler with the pair having five children over the course of their marriage. Joan continued being a midwife until her retirement in the early 1880s. She is recorded as being a volunteer at an orphanage as a cook in the 1903 cencus.
  She died in 1915 and is burried in Ashburn cemetary.
