DMF | Final 0001 - The Monarch is Victorious!
General Summary
The Barons of the March withdrew support, and the wave of popular momentum behind General Vermis Alecsandri petered out. They are soon just another bitter old soldier, ranting that they could've been the Monarch.
The Chiefs of the North agreement with the ice giants fell apart, and the giants ended up attacking The North instead. The subsequent war kept The Chiefs of the North busy to worry about matters of the throne.
Shortly after Monarch Fortune Doomfall's reign ended, the Inquisitors raided Count Ohlassi Zhnets' castle and placed him under arrest for evil magic. As he burned, he screamed the secret name of the Seventh God.
Unable to convince the peasants to act in time, the Grandees of the South scheme fizzled into irrelevancy. Perhaps next time they'd take matters into their own hands, instead of hinging their plans on the whims of common folk.
The Patricians of the Coast succeeded in turning the Palace into a hotbed of bribery and corruption, but what's new about that? They failed to gain the throne, and lost money in the process. A bad investment.
It's nice to be loved. Especially when you're loved by an entire Kingdom. Monarch Fortune Doomfall rode a surge of public adoration for carousing, feasting, and popular reform... Which were promptly undone after their passing, but the peasants thought it was nice while it lasted.
