History
Brilon was first founded as the Kingdom of Men in the Ancient Age (BGJ). In the year 2961 BGJ, the First Men sailed from the Ailian Peninsula and arrived on the Frozen Coast in the north. They traveled south, founding many small towns along the rivers and in valleys as they went. In 2958 BGJ, the First Men settled along the equator and founded the first city, Mephalon. From this city, their power and influence grew, and Mephalon soon became the religious hub for the region. In 2933 BGJ, the Kingdom of Brilon was officially founded.
Mephalon continued to rule the country until the height of the Great Magic War, when in the year 500 BGJ the city would fall to ruin during an invasion by Elvish, Dwarvish, and Orcish forces. Thus began the Ancient Human Genocide, which decimated the once prosperous kingdom.
In the year 1 AGJ, an unknown cataclysm eradicated the non-human races of the realm, leaving the survivors of the genocide to rebuild. The Kingdom of Brilon was reistablshed that same year, using the blooming city of Filsa as their new capital. Their first king was a young boy named Rarvon, so crowned for his tactical genius and bravery on the battlefield. Rarvon led the kingdom into their first conflict against the Einblish, a tribe of rebels who sought freedom from Brilish rule. In the Battle of Fellande, Rarvon would die in battle at the age of 18. In memory of his sacrifice, the Brilish term limit was established; all future kings/queens must be selected as a child and resign at the age of 18.
