Kaneth Item in Keverynn | World Anvil

Kaneth

Manufacturing process

The sword's slight curvature is attained by coating the blade with several layers of a wet clay slurry. The edge of the blade is coated with a thinner layer than the sides and spine of the sword, heated, and then quenched in water. This causes only the blade's edge to be hardened and the blade to curve.   Once the forging process is completed it is sent to be polished. The Sisterhood also adds enchantments to their blades from time to time. These are added at this time. It's rare that magic is imbued into the raw metal itself as very few enhancements of any use can be done at that stage.
