Started as a strong friendship while Mary and Amelia were studying in Magtormens, eventually blossomed into a romantic relationship while the two traveled to Magtria Vlia, much to the displeasure of Mary's Noble family, who wished to further their family's bloodline. While staying in Portempest a group of Witch Hunters accused the pair of witchcraft, for which Amelia took the blame, resulting in her being burnt at the steak.

While Elena doesn't strictly engage in the practicing of magic, her shop's array of medicinal herbs and unique plant life is exceptionally beneficial for the more magically inclined. It was through Elena's contacts in the botanical world that she met Mary and the two very rapidly bonded over their shared interest in magical plants, Elena's botanical knowledge helped Mary discover better methods of finding and cultivating crops of wild magical plants while Mary's knowledge of the arcane helped Elena to improve her plants' growth and expand her sales to cater to mages.
