Fairies
A sprite which has gained the attention of a group of people, or lived long enough to accumulate memories, will transcend its nature as an aspect of the land and begin to live for itself. Though still bound to the will of a nature god or higher nature spirit, fairies can act independently, often pulling pranks and tricking those who enter their domain. While not outright hostile they have been known to attack those who threaten their domains.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Humanoid in appearance, fairies are diminutive and range from translucent spectral forms to solid, and covered in a tough, bark-like skin. Their eyes are large and almond shaped, with pure black or silver pupils. Their hair is often matted and curled, taking on a mossy appearance when in physical form.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Fairies feed off of the ambient spiritual energy of a given location, often forests, though they can be found bound to springs, rivers, ponds, or even ancient buildings, acting as protective spirits. The stronger humans feel towards the fairy's home the more ambient spiritual energy exists for them to feed off of, though Fairies are able to drain essence directly from humans via a vampiric process.
