Moudri-Vud

A combination of words from the dialect of Cadence spoken by the vererant nomads across the southern prairies, Moudri-Vud literally means 'wise leader'. They are the respected thinkers and students of the vererant people.

One of the core principles of life among the vererant is that change is not a 'good' or 'bad' concept. To them, it's a completely impartial, natural law and is ultimately inevitable. The primary role of the Moudri-Vud is to help educate their families and clans in the traditions of their ancestors but to also know when to 'ride the rolling hills'. One common phrase among them all, is 'ride the rolling hills', which means to seize an opportunity that has arisen during a period of change and use it to create a positive effect. This teaches the tribemembers to look for the good in tumultuous times and to be prepared with whatever tools present themselves. Thier forebears knew a lot about surviving harsh environments and maintaining their way of life. Honoring that knowledge is vital to them.

The concept of 'change is inevitable' is a universal truth among the clans and the core idea is woven into many of their proverbs and basic values. They see the cycle of seasons and recognize that each season provides differing boons and although each summer is followed by autumn, no two summers are ever the same; as a broad example. The Moudri-Vud make it part of every day to share their insights and contemplate the various applications of the metaphor in their daily practices. It's common for them to spend time meditating while trying to invent or adapt a new use for an item that can no longer serve it's original purpose. A sharp piece of stone or clay from the broken bowl could find a new life as an arrowhead.

While participating in community work they talk and tell stories that have important information burried at their core, life lessons and warnings that should never be forgotten across entire generations of nomads. Although the term 'elder' is used frequently among the Moudri-Vud, there are no age restrictions associated with the role.
