Anarchanists

Members of this private research team have made some incredible discoveries over the decades but almost nobody outside the Dannamore have heard of the group calling themselves Anarchanists. The members generally focus on 'rituals of science' and the belief that there are universal laws that connect everything, therefore the various scientific disciplines have some deeply hidden laws that unite them. Theorhetically, understanding how different forces are connected someone could allow them to make quantum-level links between two seemingly unrelated concepts or things, links that even other scientists would overlook or simply fail to comprehend.

When it's your lifes purpose to unravel universal mysteries sometimes you stumble on knowledge that you would've prefered to avoid. Across history the folk called 'wizard' or 'priest' have been the cause of incredible advances in every arena of human development. Unfortunately the same can be said for their participation in devastating ecological events, cataclysmic destruction of entire nations and land masses, or the social effect of someone present who wields such power. In a strange counter-balance, many of these folk lean towards isolationism (to focus on their work), and misanthropy (people just don't 'get' it). These traits curtail their major interactions with society and keeps much of the power these metaphysicics gather from seeping into general use and protects people from the misuse of such knowledge.

Culture

Even though there are only a a dozen members at any given time, the pool from with they draw their recruits is tiny. To be considered for an opening in the research group a person must usually evince similar values as the greater group. They can afford to be selective in their recruitment since most other elements within the Ivory Tower barely know they exist - in large part due to the private nature of the group as a whole but secrecy is also a trait shared in great volume by individual members, too.
