Wildfire
Wildfire is a city that rose in brilliance from the ashes of a tragedy and grew to become a living marvel, although to be fair, it really isn't a city in the strictest sense of the word. It's more like a colony of individual organisms floating in space intertwined into a living village that sustains countless varieties of driftvines and related species.
What happened next was so miraculous that even the most jaded of soldiers stopped fighting for a time to watch in awe. The living driftvines sent out tendrils that wrapped around those who had died forming graceful spirals and intricate geometric patterns that gradually pulled all of the various space flora together around a central memorial that would one day come to be known as the oasis cathedral. Then thousands of luminous flowers in all different colors bloomed from the vines releasing glowing seeds into space, and shortly after that, several starseed vessels arrived to surround the fledgling city and gently nudge it out of harms way far from the dangerous area near the hotly contested trade routes where the fighting would soon resume.
The city of Wildfire has continued to grow and expand into the complex living ecosystem that is now home to numerous species of space flora. Its glowing ethereal beauty draws many visitors while preserving the memory of those who needlessly fell victim to the violence of the Acquisition War.
History
During the Acquisition Wars, a colony of oasis plants, a variety of driftvine known for its habit of joining with others to form colonies, got caught in the crossfire of a battle not far from the original location of the Crossroads star base. They were mortally wounded, and drifting lifelessly in space, when news of the tragedy spread to all of the space flora across the galaxy through the delicate information network of the mycelial constellations and the pulsing signals of the heart lights.
