Dragozale (drah-go-zah-lay)
Basic Information
Anatomy
Sort of like an ethereal dragon, dragozale begin life as a land creature, later develop wings to fly and eventually transcend the physical dimension altogether. They are reptilian in nature and they acquire their signature magenta skin pigmentation when they reach the stage when they are capable of flight.
Genetics and Reproduction
They are hatched from eggs.
Growth Rate & Stages
Once hatched, dragozale progress through twelve stages of physical life and then upon reaching the thirteenth stage, they transcend the physical dimension. This enables them to freely traverse all dimensions, timelines and environments including outer space. For the first six of their physical stages they are land creatures. When they reach the seventh stage they develop wings and the ability to fly. Between each stage they enter a chrysalis to allow their bodies to disassemble and reform into a new configuration, similar, but not identical, to the way a caterpillar transforms into a butterfly.
Ecology and Habitats
It is believed that they may have originated on Bane'ile, but no one really knows for sure. They are highly adaptable and capable of adjusting to all sorts of environments.
Dietary Needs and Habits
While no one has been able to determine exactly what their daily diet consists of, dragozale have been known to enjoy offerings of certain Bane'ile delicacies.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities
From the time they first hatch, dragozale have an extraordinary sense of smell. As they progress through the stages of their development, their sight continuously improves until it surpasses that of a bird of prey. They are also extremely intelligent.
Genetic Descendants
Conservation Status
Before the destruction of the Bane'ile home world, a number of dragozale eggs were transported to other worlds where they hatched and successfully adapted to their new environments. Unbeknownst to the conservationists trying to save the species, there are also many non-corporeal dragozale living in other dimensions as well as traveling through space and time.
