Satthik was a commander of the House Raendor forces at the fortress of Cardun
A cousin of Duke Elias, Satthik was a distant enough relative to gain little benefit from his kinship with the Duke and knew that to distinguish himself and earn a name, he would have to excel in some way that gained him fame. He chose to become a warrior and to become a notable commander. Pressing himself hard he learned to be ruthless and to strike hard where an enemy was weakest - on or off the battlefield.
When House Malmor began to rise in 1050, Satthik knew that his destiny was at hand. Only in war could he show his true mettle and he put forward a plan to the master of Cardun that would give the forces of House Raendor the initiative in the war against House Genlith. He led a pre-emptive covert raid against Highwater Tower hoping to capture Adriel and Lord Endon Krennel but this was thwarted.
Undaunted he and a small band of warriors confronted Adriel and his companions in Highshield Pass. The forces of Raendor would have been destroyed if not for the arrival of Trollkin reinforcements.
During the battle Satthik had been fighting Lady Keydis and despite his years of commitment to his cause he found himself outmatched. As he turned to flee from the confrontation, Lady Keydis

hurled a javelin that struck him beneath the arm as he raised his hand to signal his men, and pierced him through the torso. He was killed instantly.
