Ivory Peaks

You no go ‘n duh Toof HillsOgre, I mean, Duh Famly forbud… Far-bood… YOU NO GO!!!

- Zog Big Tooth, Ogre-Loxodon associated with Duh Famly.

Geography

Set at the center of Dreyla, the Ivory Peaks begins where the Varn Mountains end. Cutting it's way between the Ivory Walls and the Brambleshear Grove forest, ending just before the Ocean of Storms.

Ecosystem

Craggy and nearly barren, on the surface the Ivory Peaks appear quite similar to that of the Varn Mountains, albeit with much higher summits and steeper drops. But instead of rock comprising the mountains, it is instead composed of marble, limestone, and dolomite, giving the mountains the appearance of being 'fangs' or 'teeth'. And it is due to this composition that the Ivory Peaks not only hold a visual distinction from the Varn Mountains, but an ecological one as well. Which become exceptionally apparent once one delves into the mountains interconnected caverns and underground network of tunnels. Of course, this is assuming one can sneak past the ogres.     As, not only are these mountains home to all manner of hostile entities, but it is where the ogre clan known as Duh Famly have nestled themselves. Living within chambers carved out either by hand or through happenstance. And they will fiercely guard their home, refusing entry into the Ivory Peaks underbelly unless one receives special persmision. As such, little is actually known about its interior, and is instead left as conjecture.

Climate

Without the costal breezes that the Varn Mountains enjoy, the Ivory Peaks tend to be warmer then its nearby neighbor.

Fauna & Flora

As stated before, little is known of the Ivory Peaks interiors. Many have theorized on the matter, however, using the subterranean creatures that occasionally venture to the surface to give an idea of the environment. As an example, many have noted the presence of Corpse Worms, who primarily subsist on the dead. As such, it is presumed that, being inhabited by carnivorous ogres known for their sloppy eating and joy for killing, many dead bodies and carcasses can be found within. And with the presence of Kruthik and Knell Beetles, one can safely assume that the caverns are far larger than the Varn Mountains, as this would be required to facilitate the presence of two species known for making large, expansive colonies.
