Personal history
The first records of Asvlek are of his time in the Lypmi merchant community in Aglkuth. He had evidently sailed to Ethernia as a young man and become a merchant. With the support from his fellow Lypmi traders, Asvlek learned the ropes and slowly rose in status. He was able to unite the interests of several Lypmi factions and gained the trust of several local ones. Using their support and his wealth, he managed to buy up much of the local land and form a strong union of the nearby cities.
By the time that he was in his 50's, when the Great Northern war occurred, he ruled what was, in essence, his own kingdom.
In the late fall of 1076 A.K. he was visited by the Seduni princess Ethel Mezezi and her Ethain bodyguard Sezzlic Denk . The young princess had come with the goal of aligning Aglkuth with Isora Mezezi . Although at first resistant, the young princess eventually won the Merchant King over.
In his will, Aglkuth left all of hie estates and wealth to the sovereign of Sedun. Although this did not technically sign over the cities and guilds themselves, they decided to align themselves with Sedun and submit to their nominal rule in exchange for the retention of many of their rights.

Having first met when Ethel was performing her tour of Legan, the two grew closer as she stayed in Aglkuth for the winter.
