Ecarosk Character in Jewels of Lockhinge | World Anvil

Ecarosk

Consul

Ecarosk is an exceptionally large Lizardfolk individual who is currently one of the two ruling Consuls of Slagfen, and they have held the position for an impressive amount of time. The position of Consul is one that has a history of being contested and changing hands dramatically--even violently--but Ecarosk has managed to defend the title so thoroughly that a challenger hasn't stepped forward in over a decade.   They have been hailed as a hero to the town, having forged out into the swamp to eliminate impressive threats and discover assets that benefit the community. Being more expressive and apparently self-sacrificing than most Lizardfolk has endeared them to the mammals in town, while their cunning intelligence and skill at defending the town has solidly established them as a leader in the minds of the Lizardfolk.   However, word is beginning to spread that Ecarosk may not be a full-blooded member of and of the Slagfen Lizardfolk clans, and may instead be half green dragon. The whispers that follow question whether or not their incredible success was earned themselves, or if there may be an ancient beast pulling the strings and helping them gain their power. Green dragons are known for loving complicated, devious social and political meddling that can span decades before finally culminating.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Taller, spinier, and more muscular than other Lizardfolk in the community. Intimidating presence that has scared away potential challengers for years.

Special abilities

It is rumored that Ecarosk is able to breath poisonous fog, and is immune to the pockets of toxic peat that are otherwise impossible to harvest iron from.

Apparel & Accessories

Usually not much more than breeches and a mantle while conducting official work or during harsh weather, but they are always wearing jewelry and at least some ornamentation or detailing worked in the finest Slagfen iron.

Mental characteristics

Sexuality

Though several prospective mates have made advances, and Consuls often make the attempt to balance family obligations with political ones, Ecarosk has declined every offer and has shown no interest in pursuing any sort of intimate relationship with anyone.

Morality & Philosophy

Though the Lizardfolk of Slagfen are seen as a little more acclimated to settled, community-oriented way of life, and agree with some of the mammalian values around them, Ecarosk stands out even from them. Their articulate ideas, their seemingly deep care of their town and its inhabitants, and their self-sacrificing ways have impressed the non-Lizardfolk members of the settlement.
