The incursion to stop the 3 evil kings in mattingham proves to be a tragic success. Blaze only returns from the faraway lands of Mattingham bearing the tragic news that the immortals have fallen in combat. First, it was Spectre the reaper, who used her ace in the hole spell of the force link to kill the first evil king, by directly stabbing herself with her life draining sword.   Then it was Viktor Larsvor who was lost under rubble as the city of Goldshade came crashing down upon him as he held open the gate with his bare hands to help hundreds escape from the dying city.   Then it was Sylvia Sunshard, who gave Tower the sunshard and distracted the mages guarding the way out, she was disintegrated.   Shortly after Sylvia followed Klaut Goldmantle, picking up Sylvia's fallen blade and attacking the evil king with it. In the duel, the evil king struck Klaut with a venomous blade and in spite of Klaut's victory in the duel, he collapsed to the poison that has seeped into his wound not much later.   Lastly, it was Tower. In the battle against Zartor, the ringleader of the evil kings Tower's victory of the duel and the denial of Zartor's deal caused a total meltdown of Zartor's magical force that created his stronghold. Tower proceeded to keep Zartor pinned down inside the stronghold, ensuring that Zartor would meet his end with no chance to escape his fate.   Finally... Blaze, not able to bear the guilt of losing those he cared most about commited ritual suicide back at home.
