The Lorrian

"Duke of the criminal underworld estimated to be one of the richest men in Jeslore, and perhaps most importantly: Owner of the biggest private army of Jeslore. He is referred to as many things: Evil Genius, Supervillain, Criminal Mastermind, Warlord, Illegitimate Insurgent are all things he has been labeled as by the dominant governments of Jeslore. None of which speak the truth about his character, as unlike a true evil genius or insurgent, The Lorrian has a very distinct benevolent side to him and wishes to bring peace and defend the private interest of all, not perpetuate war and bring pain upon the smaller man. Before long, even the R.A.R must come to recognize The Lorrian for who he is." - Recovered note from a Leopard Seal Unit mercenary

Physical Description

Body Features

What the Lorrian looks like is obviously a well-kept secret. There are dozens of videos even online where the Lorrian addresses his henchmen in person, but obviously, he took great care to protect his identity even here. In all of his videos, he is sitting in front of a large, well-lit fish tank with large aquatic animals swimming around in it (Killer whales, lorrians, great whites, etc) in an almost ridiculously elaborate office chair. The backlight casts a shadow over his face that completely obscures his identity, in addition, he wears black gloves and a custom-tailored 3 piece suit and it would appear he is in good physical shape, as is to be expected of someone with this amount of wealth. Also behind him is a map of Jeslore that displays the territory under his control.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

The Lorrian as a child somewhat unsurprisingly had a fascination with marine life, most of which lorrians (a species of large un-tusked walrus similar to pelagiarctos). He was born in a low-class family as the first and last son of a dysfunctional couple. His mother was a prostitute who was married to an alcoholic dock worker. The Lorrian was a sensitive child and had an interest in the arts, wanting to become an actor. It was not to be as he could not find a role anywhere in spite of his innate skill for acting, instead, he was approached by a group of bank robbers who wanted him to cause a big distraction. The heist was successful, even if the heisters left him behind to be arrested, further plummeting his state of living. What happened after, is largely a mystery as shortly after gaining any level of power, he immediately had all records of his past wiped away, erasing any clues leading to what his real identity might be.   Even now, there are barely any clues as to who the Lorrian really is, he has covered his tracks far too well. But given that the immense power he wields more or less originates from his wealth, his real identity must at least be among the 1000 wealthiest people of Jeslore. There are hundreds of thousands of candidates that fit the bill capable of pulling off what the Lorrian does, but unfortunately it isn't clear which of them have the actual acumen to control the empire the Lorrian commands. Additionally, the few clues that can be gathered from the sparse footage captured of the man himself are very much up to interpretation and very much match the taste of the average millionaire.

Education

It is not known which degrees the real identity of the Lorrian has, but based on empirical evidence they must have a degree or at least be highly skilled at financial planning, military strategy, marketing. Most of the advances in military technology his organization makes can be put down to the scientists he has recruited, but he is known to give direct orders to his officers and special units and manages to completely outplay even the most esteemed generals of other armies. This is a skill that he must have learned somewhere.    Obviously, being a man that wields money as a weapon of mass invasion, the Lorrian's financial planning skills might be some of the most polished on Jeslore. He is immensely fast to reallocate spending wherever they are needed to ruthlessly maximize economic and military efficiency. Despite barely taxing his territory and only scoring 1/4 as much loot as Kat of the Drosden Fleet, he somehow manages to pull out resources to completely overwhelm his opponents. And as massive as his army seems, his economy and his own money bag always seem to recover from even the most brutal beating nearly instantly. It is suspected that he must own several large corporations that he siphons money from to fund his ambitions, but the department of trade and finances can't find a single network of corporations owned by one industrialist showing irregularities corresponding with the Lorrian's immense financial power.   All of his abilities point to the man behind the mask being an immensely cunning and highly intelligent individual, and based on the abilities he displays, it was only a matter of time before he would create an empire of this size.

Employment

The Lorrian is almost certainly an industrialist, but a highly intelligent one that has managed to elude identification from even the most intense scrutiny from two of the most persistent departments (Department of domestic security and civil protection and the department of trade and finances), neither of which have been able to identify him both by tracking the spending of every single millionaire of Jeslore and sending a legion of spies his way.

Accomplishments & Achievements

The most impressive accomplishment of the Lorrian is eluding identification despite being obsessively tracked by 2 of the most effective investigation agencies, fending off some of the best spies the department of domestic security and civil protection has to offer while not drawing the attention of the department of trade and finances while siphoning money from his companies into his empire. He's also behind some of the most impressive feats of military strategy of Jeslorian history to the point he has enticed one of the force of nature's agents to join O.R.C.A (Optimized Reversal Control Agency), which is the Lorrian's answer to elite units like the immortals and alpha squad. O.R.C.A, much like the Lorrian himself is well-organized and difficult to predict.

Morality & Philosophy

The Lorrian's philosophy, especially his political philosophy seems to be a more extreme version of libertarianism. This is well portrayed in that his "government" is completely built on complicit private organizations that share no real similarities other than an attraction to his ideology. He barely taxes his citizens, instead making money through unknown means, possibly by selling them products with his possible real companies. He draws a lot of water by vowing to protect private interest and offering an alternative between the extremely authoritarian imperial regime, the overtly cautious R.A.R, the directionless Dracholmian Union, and the overtly royal nature of the drosden fleet. His ideas are relatively fresh but also based on the familiar success of the dwarven government model (while conveniently ignoring everything that's wrong with it).   He holds personal liberty in high regard and despises authoritarianism (outside of corporations), and his military company, also known as L.S.U (Leopard Seal Unit) is his weapon against those seeking to force their will upon others. He also hates models of enforced class division, such as slavery, as in his eyes everyone should have the opportunity to get to the top. The Lorrian also has a corrupt side to him, as in the end the war only gives him more and more money which he can directly exchange into influence to spread his ideology without actually having to force it upon someone. By extending the duration of the war, exhausting his enemies and showing off how effective his model of government is, he can effectively convert people to his way of thinking simply by proverbially getting people off his lawn.
