{5,7} Itheria Woods DM

Lore Summary

Itheria Woods is a sprawling wilderness of forest, hills, and lakes. To the southwest lies Itheria Lake, where a madman once bred krakens and released them into the waters. Rumor has it that some krakens still exist there today. On the shores of the lake is a small fishing village of the Uvaze goblins–a peaceful tribe that hunts and fishes.   To the south-central are the Unicorn Woods, filled with unicorns that have now been released from a poacher that kept them captive for a long while–Yina the Unicorn Handler, whose house is still there today.   To the southeast lies the Singing Cliffs, the home of harpies that have lived there for centuries. Once at war with the Vrak goblin tribe to the north, they now have an uneasy peace due to the actions of the Jaytowners who helped them achieve a ceasefire.   In the center of Itheria are the three goblin tribes–the Uvaze who are simple hunters and fishers, the Gex who are strong and fierce warriors who ride Roks they have tamed from the hills they live in, and the Vrak who are much simpler, but also fierce. All three goblin tribes have alliances with one another, but tensions could certainly rise at any time. In the Uvaze territory there is an old and battered camp that was destroyed by the actions of Zeyla, the barbarian woman who ran the woods for sometime. The Uvaze are rebuilding what they lost. In the hills of the Gex, the Roks fly far and wide and protect the treacherous hills. In the Vrak territory, to the east of their camp, is the reminiscence of a battle between goblins and harpies.   To the northwest lies the Tangled Woe, the home of two sibling bronze dragons. They have lived there for quite some time and wish to remain unaffected. To the northwest lies the Stone Maze, a tangled set of caves where deep within, basilisks reside.   And to the north-central stands the Blood Woods. In the Blood Woods, a large structure looms–a building surrounded by statues of skulls. This is where Zeyla, the barbarian woman who commanded poachers–resided. She had control of most of Itheria at one point and the kraken priest, Yina, and the Vrak tribe were in her employment. She killed beasts as she saw fit and tamed others as she wanted. She sold monster parts for profit and captured and chained animals that she liked. She was a force to be reckoned with. Luckily, due to the actions of adventures throughout Jaytown, she has been defeated. The adventures were able to: stop the war between the harpies and the Vrak tribe and convince the Vrak to go against Zeyla; amass forces from all three of the goblin tribes; defeat the priest who released krakens into the waters; defeat Yina and free the unicorns; free the dragon Yrlo from her captive state with the help of her brother, Votiss; stop the trafficking of basilisks from the Stone Maze; and ultimately defeat the barbarian woman herself. A statue stands in remembrance of the adventures who fought to free the woods: Treyphon Talnin, Shanairra Liadon, I.T., Shadows at Twilight, and Will Drinkwater. Below is also a plague of those who assisted in their efforts: Nalma, Merry O’Connor, Nazım , Fenris, Tiliashanna, Paeris “Joe” Bluclu-Talnin, Gor’vox, Alcohol, Ragnar, Lancelot, and Locast.   Zeyla’s special greataxe, the Greataxe of the Kraken, was brought back to Jaytown to be auctioned off.
