Dignity and Honor is a holiday that takes place on Vondren, where one is meant to celebrate, and take pride in, the advancements made by the industrious peoples of Vondren.

History

The holiday was originally more of a way to rub achievements in the face of Jaumun, started some time during the DarkWar.
The focus of the holiday has changed over time, going from general pride, to art-focused following the creation of the Lordtown Entertainment Guild, to then being focused on industry after the discovery of Refined Cryolidhium Crystal Power, onto being medicine-centric after the Medical renaissance and formation of the Bhcu Cuhcil Medical Society, back to a focus on industry after the formation of the Eacner Jredde Miner's Guild, and finally becoming Military focused during the bug war. The Military has always been a big portion of the celebration.

Alternate Observance

With greater times of military pride, though, comes greater backlash from the HavocBreaker community in Vullavual Laud. While this has always been the case, its gotten a bit more mischievous in recent times. From graffitied military vehicles, to booby trapped buildings, to stolen tools (often replaced with humorous items), and so on.
This development started once the warring between the Western and Eastern HavocLords ended. Some think it is the peace between them, giving the people of The Scorched Hollow and The Pile more freetime, that caused the uptick in military harassment. While others blame the newer Southern Lord, who has been heavily characterized to be a bit of a prankster.

We all know its just become an excuse for ol' Addy to fluff his feathers, Saw. Tell me, honestly now, that you wouldn't think it was funny if they were glued down. Just a bit.

Execution

Usually a week of conventions, parades, and sporting events showing off the marvels of Vondren. Most Vondren-originating sports were invented just to add to the spectacle of the holiday. Sometimes they even invite the The Gloriously Confounding Galahad and Ciero Gallivanting Circus to tour around the major cities.
(Or pranks on military, if you're from Vullavual Laud and super ballsy)

Observance

A week long celebration practiced once a year on Vondren.
